Weipa Sunset has been created using mixed mediums, glass beads, sticks and bauxite spheres created on a recycled canvas frame due to the remoteness of Weipa. The deep reds, golds and turquiose beads shimmer like heat on the horizon. Organic forms emerge through the glowing surface, reflecting the spirit of dusk in Far North Queensland and the powerful energy of Country as the day dissolves into night.
